"Were I called on to define, very briefly, the term Art, I should call it the reproduction of what the Senses perceive in Nature through the veil of the soul." - Edgar Allan Poe

I've been working at feverish pitch finishing these four little oils for the South Shore Art Center's "Simple Gifts" small works show.  I had a great time... it was really fun and an enjoyable change of pace painting with oils.
For those of you who are local please take note of the reception at SSAC, 119 Ripley Road, Cohasset on Friday Nov 9th 6-8pm..... there'll be lots of very reasonably priced small works by wonderful local artists.....just in time for the holiday season.  Hope to see some of you there :)

Hi Maureen, four paintings absolutely beautiful! Difficult for me to say which one I prefer...the sky of the third is enchanting....but also the atmoshere of the last one....and the blue of the first one.....
