"Were I called on to define, very briefly, the term Art, I should call it the reproduction of what the Senses perceive in Nature through the veil of the soul." - Edgar Allan Poe

It's been quite awhile since I've posted.  Christmas came and went in a whirl of family and friends and I've no idea how come January slipped by so fast.  Mostly it was all about putting away the christmas decorations and trying to catch up with the calendar for upcoming shows.  Unfortunately, not much painting seems to have gotten done, but I'm ready to correct that in the upcoming weeks.

Some good news is that my work is in a couple of upcoming exhibits opening soon and I was accepted into the Annual Duxbury Winter Show at the Art Complex Museum in Duxbury.

For those of you in the Boston area I'm posting a list of current shows and hope that some of you will be able to stop by and view the artwork.

My oil painting "Spring Fields" is included in "Open Spaces" a new show at the South Street Gallery, 149 South Street, Hingham, MA. The opening reception is Friday  Feb 1st a 6:00pm. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Audubon Society.

The New England Watercolor Society Members Show is being held at the
Guild of Boston Artists, 162 Newbury Street, Boston, MA
Opening Reception: Saturday February 2 at 2-5pm
I am so honored and excited to be a Full Juried Member of this prestigious watercolor society which was first established in 1885.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I'm very happy to say that "Sagrada Familia" was accepted into the Duxbury Winter Juried Show.... entries are always a nail biter for artists, so I was very pleased.
Opening Reception is Saturday February 9 at 7:30pm
The Art Complex Museum, 186 Alden Street, Duxbury, MA

Back to the drawing board now.... or I should say easel!  I will spend tomorrow, while the wind is howling outside, looking through my photos for some inspiration.  I feel like I should have a plan but I don't really... I will just have to see what catches my eye.  I do have a couple of ideas for a series but they are, sort of, on the back burner.... incubating.  We will see!
